MANILA, Philippines — The employer of ill-fated flight attendant Christine Angelica Dacera, who was found unconscious in a hotel bathtub in Makati City on New Year’s Day, has called for authorities to ensure that the truth will come out with regards to her death. The 23-year-old was later declared dead at the hospital, and it was the Makati Medical Center that informed the Makati City police of her death. “Our desire is for the truth to come out in the interest of justice,” said the Philippine Airlines (PAL) Express in a statement on Tuesday. Dacera was working as flight attendant of PAL Express, the Philippine region brand of the flag carrier.

“PAL Express mourns the tragic death of Cristine Dacera last January 1 during New Year revelry in Makati City,” it added. Dacera, PAL Express further said, was an “upstanding and professional PAL Express crew member who will be sorely missed by her colleagues and friends.”

The chief of the Makati City police, Col. Harold Depositar, said that the victim “had lacerations and sperm in her genitalia,” as well as bruises, contusions, and scratches on her arms and legs.

A provisional charge of rape with homicide was filed Monday against 11 persons who were with Dacera during the party, Depositar added.

Only three of the 11 accused came forward so far, Depositar said.

PAL Express, meanwhile, said that it was “extending full support to the flight attendant’s family at this most difficult time.”
