Cusi meeting walang basbas sa PDP-Laban officers
A reliable source shared with us that no less than Senators Bong Go and Bato dela Rosa will not be attending the said meeting on Monday by Sec. Cusi and have not received any instructions from President Rodrigo Duterte as well.
PDP-LABAN in their constitution and By laws which was shared with us explicitly states that only the Party Chairman and Party President can call for a national council meeting. Neither of which has called a meeting on Monday.
One wonders why the urgency of Vice Chairman Cusi who is also the department of Energy secretary and his underling in the DOE a certain Matibag are in a hurry to push for a illegal national meeting now when there is a planned scheduled national assembly in September.
Sec. Cusi is a longtime GMA ally and Lakas member who only recently joined PDP-LABAN along with his assistant Matibag during the Duterte Presidency.
Recent news has surfaced that former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is planning to run for congress again and aim to be Speaker of the House and possibly Prime minister should she be successful in a charter change in the next congress. Former President Arroyo and her party Lakas are pushing for a Sara Duterte Presidency.
Is Cusi’s rush to convene an illegal national assembly without current President Duterte’s blessing a way of showing loyalty to former President Arroyo and future presidential candidate Sara Duterte? It also happens to be the birthday weekend of Sara Duterte, this could possibly be Sec. Cusi’s birthday gift, a show of support?
Nonetheless, whatever exhibition Sec. Cusi shows on Monday his meeting can not be branded as an official national assembly as per the party rules and just highlights the traditional “trapo” that he is. It is obvious he is working on the orders of his former boss in support of a non-PDP Laban candidate Sara Duterte.
